The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Administrative Management Assistant in the Security Assistance Office of the Embassy.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent is the primary back up of the SAO Administrative Management Specialist in planning, resourcing, and coordinating the International Military Education and Training program and Counter Terrorism Fellowship Program and managing the SAO office operational, T-20 budget. As part of her/his duties the individual will prepare official correspondence, assist with the coordination of official visits, and assist with the procurement, maintenance and accountability of office equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Management/Business Administration or Accounting is required.
2. Required Prior Experience: Three years of progressive responsible work experience in financial management of which two years must be in an administrative/military experience is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading English and Amharic is required.
4. Other Skills: Incumbent must have extensive experience in using automated accounting software. Sound working knowledge of organization and composition of Ethiopian government and military, contracting, Comptroller’s policies, budget procedures and financial management regulations are also required.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Ability to effectively interact with senior level host government officials, military and business personnel is required.
SELECTION PROCESS

1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
