The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Project Coordinator in the Strategic Information Unit of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office in Ethiopia.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the general supervision of the Branch Chief –Strategic Information, the incumbent serves as a lead program operations coordinator in Strategic Information Unit (SI) Unit with primary responsibility for providing technical advice and assistance to the Technical Officer(s) and Branch Head to ensure efficient, effective, and systematic management of unit work flow. Oversee program performance by interacting with partners on technical matters, make site visits, collect information and communicate to technical officer(s). Identify program issues and gaps to be resolved, provides solution on the ground or report to technical officer.
Moreover, the incumbent advises and assists the technical officers and branch chief with the planning, implementing, evaluating, coordinating and maintaining of branch operations for the provision of effective public health program services. Perform various project-support duties to facilitate the smooth progress and completion of CDC/E projects and programs as planned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Required Education: Bachelors degree in the field of health services, social/natural science, Business Administration, Health or Lab technology is required.
2. Required Prior Experience: Minimum of five years experience in HIV/AIDS or other health related project/program management or technical support experience is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading English and Amharic is required.
4. Other Skills: Possess a sound knowledge of host country health system, economic, social, cultural and political setups. Must be able to demonstrate advanced skills in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Must be tactful and effective in dealings for program/project implementation with CDC/E partners, and various officials of governmental and non governmental organizations with whom incumbent will be in contact in assisting to resolve issues related with the operation of programs/projects are required.
