The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Registered Professional Nurse in the Health Unit of the Embassy.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The position is located in the Embassy Health Unit (HU) and is under the direct supervision of the FSHP. The incumbent will provide the full range of professional nursing services to Americans.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Required Education: Graduate of a professional nursing college or college that has the equivalent of RN
training in the U.S. (to be confirmed by the RMO and/or M/MED) and be fully credentialed/licensed in the
host country is required.
2. Required Experience: Two years of hospital or outpatient nursing experience is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Reading English is required.
4. Other Skills: Must have up-to-date nursing science and technology understanding; familiar with American
nursing standards of care.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Must have ability to perform history and physical assessments and
make a nursing diagnostic with care plan and treatment.
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFM) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
