The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Technical Officers in different discipline in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office in Ethiopia.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the general supervision of the CDC/Eth Branch Chiefs, the incumbents serve as primary medical officer in policy formulation, interpretation and determination of program plans and objectives, establishment of goals, utilization of personnel and other resources. The incumbents will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring of Blood Safety program operations; or national level ART projects and associated targeted evaluation activities; or an integrated HIV/AIDS/STI/TB surveillance system in host country; or provide scientific advice and consultation on the implementation of strategies to improve existing HIV/AIDS, STI and TB surveillance systems and laboratory capacities in host country. These include working closely with the Ministry of Health and other partners, in the collection of data, the preparation and distribution of guidelines and training materials.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Required Education: MD with Masters of Public Health or Specialty on Pediatrics or Internal medicine is required.
2. Required Prior Experience: Six years of practical experience in a public health or clinical medicine or research role with government, university, research organization, or HIV/AIDS program is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading English and Amharic is
required.
4. Other Skills: In-depth knowledge of medical and public health systems in Ethiopia. Computer knowledge and skills for data management and statistical analysis (EpiInfo or other statistical package), Word Processing and Spreadsheets is required.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate cooperative working relationships with MOH, health bureaus, NGOs and other partners, colleagues and entire CDC/Ethiopia staff.
