The U.S. Mission Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Program Agent in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office in Ethiopia. 

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the general supervision of the CDC/E Senior Program Agent, position is responsible for facilitating and performing procurement duties involving the processing and follow-up of procurement questions in fulfillment of CDC/E needs for a variety of commodities and services. Position’s duties constitute performing all aspects of procurement processes ranging from reviewing of purchase requisitions to perusal of a series of follow-up actions, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

NOTE:  All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

1.   Required Education: Completion of Secondary school is required.
2. Required Prior Experience: Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in procurement and supply fields is required.
 3.   Language Requirement: Level 3 (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading English is required.     
4. Other Skills Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills. Must demonstrate competence in using Microsoft Office Suite and have a valid Grade 2 Ethiopian driver’s license.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Must demonstrate cooperative working relationships to maintain effective working relationships with CDC/E staff, US Embassy office of Procurement/General Services, Budget & Fiscal, MoH, NGOs, and other partners.


SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFM) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference.  Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
 
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA: 

1.  Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. 

2.  Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.

3.  Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.

4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
