USAID/ETHIOPIA is accepting applications from interested individuals for the position of HIV/AIDS Social Mobilization Program Specialist from Local US or TCN citizens.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: The HIV/AIDS Social Mobilization Program Specialist will serve as the technical lead in the facilitation and support of a broad range of health promotion activities to strengthen community-based responses to HIV/AIDS, including community empowerment activities. The Program Specialist will assist the Ministry of Health and HAPCO to support capacity development of civil society to aid in the reduction of HIV/AIDS stigma and discrimination. S/he will be responsible for assisting the Team achieve its PEPFAR targets and Intermediate Results.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: A master’s degree in public health, social sciences, or other health care development related field is required.
Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible experience in HIV/AIDS-related activities, including monitoring and evaluation.
Experience: Fluent in English both oral and written.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of HIV/AIDS program design, implementation and evaluation is required. The incumbents should have the ability to establish and maintain contacts with a wide-range of government officials, implementing partners, and site-level providers engaged in HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services.
