Direct Line Call with Ambassador Patricia Haslach
“Opportunities for Agri-Business in Ethiopia”
November 12, 2013
Despite a history of drought, Ethiopia has significant agricultural potential across a range of micro-climates suitable for a wide variety of crops. To increase rural employment and income while bolstering export earnings, the government of Ethiopia is offering a range of incentives to agricultural investors. These include free land use in designated regions, free well-drilling and connection to electricity, tax-free status for up to six years and duty-free imports of capital equipment.
In a webinar on November 12, 2013, Ambassador Haslach will provide an introduction to Ethiopia and its agricultural sector, followed by an interactive session in which you can ask questions. Ambassador Haslach will be joined by a panel of experts including Pol/Econ Chief Shannon Cazeau, USAID Senior Agricultural Advisor Cullen Hughes and Foreign Agricultural Service Counselor Quintin Gray.
The webinar will start at 7 pm Addis Ababa time (11 am EST) and last for one hour. If interested in participating, please RSVP no later than November 4, 2013 to: DirectLineAddisAbaba@state.gov.
