Library Program
American Library Association (ALA) Fellowship Program - Each year, Washington invites PD Posts to participate in the program and to submit requests for library fellowships.
ALA places experienced American librarians overseas for periods of four months to one year to initiate or manage special projects identified as important to long-term U.S. and host country interests that will improve and increase access to American sources of information.
The general goals of the programs are to improve host country or regional access to important information from and about the U.S. and to establish on-going linkages between American and foreign professionals and institutions in the interest of improving mutual understanding. The program is administered by the American Library Association under a grant from Washington.
