Key Objectives

• Work with host nation governments, IOs, NGOs and other diplomatic missions to ensure refugees receive adequate physical and legal protection.
  
  
• Ensure refugees and conflict victims receive internationally-accepted standards of care in shelter, food, water, sanitation and public health, as well as promote refugee access to basic educational resources.
  
  
• Through regular visits to refugee camps, monitor use of funds provided by the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) to NGOs and IOs involved in refugee support operations.
  
  
• Monitor and report on events in the Horn of Africa that could affect the security and stability of refugees in the region.
